Winter 2012 Program Schedule

All students need to participate in tournaments! There are “Rookie Nets” for the novice player, which are non-elimination tournaments and USTA sanctioned tournaments for the more accomplished player. Arun’s Tennis Academy (ATA) hosts many tournaments throughout the year. For guidance on which tournaments to enter, please consult with Arun and/or check online at www.usta.com

Singles Match Play
“Friday Night Live” singles match play will begin October 29th. One and a half hours of professionally supervised match play. Refreshments are included. Cost is $15.00.

Two-Hour Program
Junior players ages 8-18. The key to Junior player development! A two-hour group lesson for all Junior players with a serious interest in tennis, whether a beginner or an accomplished tournament player. Enrollment in 3 to 4 classes per week is recommended for all students wishing to achieve the highest level of skill in their tennis. (Average ratio of 5 players to 1 pro per court)

Beginner Program
1.5hr program, ages 5-12. An excellent introduction to the game of tennis. A one-hour group lesson taught at an introductory level. All classes accommodate all levels of beginners, as students are grouped and assigned to courts according to ability.

Junior Singles Match Play
A venue for scheduled, supervised matches amongst our own students. Students of all skill levels are eligible to play, players are grouped according to ability. Matches held Fridays and Saturdays. Students put their names on sign-up sheets back by the tennis courts for the day(s) they want to play.

Private Lessons
Although the “group” lesson is the staple of our instruction, a private lesson has many benefits when used to augment the Two or One Hour Programs. It is recommended that beginners and students training at the highest level schedule one private lesson per week. For all other students, a periodic lesson is an excellent way to thoroughly assess progress and focus on areas needing improvement. Please call the instructor directly to schedule.
